Masquerade

Saturday 30th June at 8.30pm

For the first time The Perth Tango Club will be hosting a Charity Milonga Para Los Ninos; to let the Children (from the home of Argentine Tango) know we are here.

Entertainment is being planned including the more experienced members displaying their talents. In addition younger students will perform an Argentine folk dance in keeping with the theme of the charity.

History behind Milonga Para Los Ninos

A Charity Organising Committee was originally set up in Brisbane in 2002. Since then Adelaide, Sydney, New Zealand and now Perth support the Milonga Para Los Ninos to achieve a deeper connection with Argentina.

A project to set up a foster home to help homeless children with basic sustenance has now moved to providing vocational education. To think that 4 years ago these children and young people had no bathroom, no kitchen, no hot water, no solid walls, no glass in the windows, were cooking (for up to 80) on an open fire and sharing a light bulb, they have come a very long way to the point that they can start to think about the future instead of the next meal. It is an enormous achievement for them and one that the supporting groups can be proud of.

 Open to the Public

This event is open to the public to come and share the atmosphere of Buenos Aires created by Authentic Argentine tango music, entertainment, social dancing and a wonderful supper.

Bookings can be made by telephone (9271 0555) or at the Club during the weekly practise on Wednesday evening that follows the free introduction to Tango between 7 and 8pm.

This Black Tie event will be held at the Club’s home in The Lesser Hall, 82 Cambridge Street, Leederville. Tickets are $50 and include the Supper, Entertainment and Social Argentine Tango dancing.
